Kitchen mama

It's the gallery and She-ra has yet again commandeered the camera. I am mortified because
A- the kitchen looks filthy - probably because it is.
B- it doesn't come out well but I will let you make you own judgement on that.
Ideally I would have open plan to dining room so I could look across and see a child there working away but we just have a small table for two in the kitchen. This gets used for brekkie with Hot Date and I ( yes that's still going unbelievably ) or when there is just me and an off spring. On weekend I like to sit in the warmth of the kitchen with radio 2 on, lap top on cruising the blogs and web with large coffee in hand. how old am I?!

We go through vast quantities of dried fruit nuts and baking products in general. All stored in a variety of jam jars and kilner jars covered in sticky finger prints

The eggs are provided weekly from my chicken lady at work from her small holding. Some of them are enormous - wince away.

We have 2 fridges. The dairy, veg and condiments.

And the meat and booze fridge. Fortunately you cant see the booze * ahem ( you need to read my previous blog to realise why )

the Jaffas!

I love my birds. The middle one is Amy Cluckhouse!

Fabulous darling

This weekend has been splediforous. My Scottish BFF, co egg roller and mother of 2 came down for girlie time. Up, or down as the case maybe, to the Big city with the bright lights and people she didn't know.
We lunched. Sainsurys Taste the difference Pea & ham soup as thick as snot and the same colour to boot, delish! and home made fennel ciabatta - yum
We shopped. Harvey Nichols, Liz Earle, Space NK, Jo Malone, (River Island for the wee one.) We smelt fabulous. We had beautiful wrapped parcels in fancy bags.
We bought M&S dine in for 2 for 4 plus extra wine. This quickly became dine in for 5 as He-mans girle joined us. Still in ballet regalia, bizarre.
We had gin & tonic and nibbles.
And a couple more.
We fully intended hitting the local high street however the howling gale and lashing rain put us off. what were we to do.
It kind of went down hill and ended up more like this.

Berrocca, chocolate and coke followed teh next day but we didn't behave any better either. Cue She-ra and plenty of eye rolling though she whisphered "mum you are having so much fun you haven't stopped laughing all weekend"

A day in the life of a 15year old

Tara's challenge was to document your day for 11/11/11. I haven't done the gallery for some time and thought this was a challenge worth rising to. Only to be quite frank my day would have been dog walk, dog poo, drive to work, a terribly plain office followed by drive home in dark more dog walk and more dog poo. Boring!
However She-ra, aged 15 and half thought this would be fantastic. I am so pleased without any reminding from me that she captured poppies ( there were a lot more ) the essence of what this day is all about. So I give you her day in pictures in chronological order.
